The FARR 72 « BY FARR » (NED 711), formerly known as YEOMAN XXX, is one of Bruce Farr's most iconic achievements in the world of maxi racing-cruising yachts. Designed as a true ocean racer capable of offering exceptional comfort, it combines the high-performance lines of Farr Yacht Design with the talent of renowned designer Andrew Winch, responsible for the profile, deck layout, and interior fittings. Built in 1991 by the South African shipyard Eric Bongers Boatbuilders, also known for building several Whitbread Maxi yachts, this 22-meter yacht was designed from the outset to participate in the biggest international regattas while remaining suitable for cruising with a small crew. The deck layout has been optimized with high-performance hydraulic equipment: custom Lewmar winches, Navtec boom vang, and Harken hydraulic furler, allowing for simplified operation with a small crew.
