Construction and Materials

The hull and deck benefit from a high-end sandwich construction of balsa/E-fiberglass and carbon fiber, created using vacuum infusion for optimal strength and lightness. The exterior surfaces receive a triple-layer lacquer with a mirror finish, enhanced with a protective varnish, guaranteeing exceptional aesthetics and durability. The deck is fully planked with exotic wood (teak, 8 mm thick), providing a touch of classic elegance and natural non-slip comfort. The deck hardware includes polished stainless steel safety bulwarks and externally drained cockpit lockers, demonstrating the attention paid to practical details and onboard safety.

Rigging and Deck Hardware

In terms of sailing, the Alphena One is designed for performance while remaining easy to handle. Its black lacquered aluminum mast and boom (carbon option available) support an optimized sail plan. The headsail is on a furler (Facnor system), and the self-tacking jib with symmetrical sheets greatly facilitates tacking. A retractable carbon bowsprit allows the gennaker to be hoisted in the blink of an eye to take advantage of even the slightest breeze. The rigging also incorporates a mainsail outhaul system in the boom and automatic reefing points for quickly reducing sail area in strong winds. As for deck hardware, all the equipment is top-of-the-line. All common lines rely on premium Harken components, guaranteeing precise and effortless adjustments: two self-tailing winches facilitate cockpit maneuvers, and a double purchase system on a central turret allows for smooth mainsail adjustments. Retractable stainless steel mooring cleats complete the equipment, preserving the clean aesthetics of the deck.

Electric Propulsion

Powered by a 3.5 kW Krautler 48V electric motor, the Alphena One allows for silent and emission-free departures and arrivals in port. The motor is powered by a bank of four 12V gel batteries installed at the bow, the main battery of which was replaced in 2024, all monitored by a charger and charge controller for readily available power. Harbor maneuvering is effortless thanks to the highly precise joystick control, and the folding bronze two-blade propeller reduces drag under sail while ensuring efficient propulsion on demand.

Interior Comfort

Although performance-oriented, this sailboat offers a refined interior for the crew's well-being. Two side benches convert into additional berths, with integrated storage lockers to optimize space. The interior materials and fabrics have been selected for their quality and practicality: stain-resistant and Öko-Tex certified, they guarantee an environment that is elegant, healthy, and easy to maintain. This streamlined layout invites relaxation during stopovers, while remaining functional while sailing.
